Every single year, supposed sports experts and columnists proclaim that this is the year for the Big 10. Yes I will admit that the Big 10 is going to be better this year than they have been in the past four. However the SEC is still the Elite conference in College Football. It does not matter who represents the Big 10 in the National Championship Game (If a member of the Big 10 makes it there) they will still lose to whoever won in the SEC. That is not debatable. Since the inception of the BCS the Big 10 has won, just one National Championship. In that same timespan the SEC has won 6 National Championships including 5 out of the last 7 and the past 4 straight. From a conference to conference perspective the SEC outmatches the Big 10 in all three tiers. The top 4 teams in the Big 10 are, Ohio State, Penn State, Iowa and Wisconsin, who at best match up with the middle teams in the SEC. Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia and South Carolina. I am just going to go out on a limb and proclaim that if Ohio State, Iowa, Penn State and Winsonsin played an SEC schedule they might win 8 games. Maybe. Now if Auburn, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Georgia played a Big 10 schedule. Well then you would see all four destroy the Big Ten. Yes they would lose a few games, I am not saying that the SEC is unbeatable. However no team in the Big 10 can match up to even the middle tier teams in the SEC. So yes, Ohio State might run all over the Big 10 this year and go to Arizona like they did four years ago with everyone thinking this is the greatest team ever in the history of anything. (I honestly do not know why, considering Ohio State was raped four years ago in Arizona) But Ohio State will lose to the SEC Champion. Whether that is Florida, Alabama, or one of the teams I talked about earlier. Ohio State will lose and that my friends in undebatable. So what is my reasoning for this..... Stop proclaiming the Big 10 is the greatest football conference when year after year they lose to the SEC who is the best football conference. What do you think???... Read More »
